Configuring Firewall Settings for SCCM 2012 R2

In this post we are going to Configuring Firewall Settings for SCCM 2012 R2, There are some connections in System Center 2012 R2 Configuration Manager which use ports and some use custom ports which we have to specify, We have to verify that all the required ports are properly configured. In this post we will learn how to create inbound and outbound rules for file and printer sharing and opening TCP ports for SQL.

Configuring Firewall Settings for SCCM 2012 R2

Open Serever Manager go to Tools and open Group policy management to create firewall ruls for SCCM 2012 R2

At group policy management console right click on domain and click on Create a GPO

In Name type client push policy or what ever you want to identify

Then right click on Client push policy we have created and select edit to edit this policy

Go to computer configuration\policies\windows settings\Security settings\Windows firewall with advance security\Windows firewall and advance security from there you can find Inbound Rule create new inbound rule

In rule type window select Predefined and from predefined select File and Printer Sharing then click next

From Predefined window select all rules and click next

Here select Allow the action after that click finish

Now we have to create outbound rule right click on Outbound rule and select New rule

In rule type window select Predefined and from predefined select File and Printer Sharing then click next.

Select all rules on Predefined Rules window then click next

From Action window select Allow the connection and click on finish

After creating outbound rule then go to inbound rule right click on it and click new rule

At  Rule Type select Predefined  and in predefined select Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) then click next

At predefined window select all rule then click next

Select allow the connection and click finish

Now we have to create rules to open ports for SQL replication

In below steps we learn how to create rule to open ports for SQL replication, We are going to oipen two ports i.e Port 1433 and Port 4022

From group policy management console right click on domain and Create a GPO

Right click and select new rule to create rule for SQL for SCCM 2012 r2

Select Port and click next

Select TCP then select Specified local ports in specified local ports type 1433 and click next

Select allow the connection then click next

From Profile window select Domain, Private, Public and click next

Type name and click on finish

We had created rule for port 1433 now we have to create rule for port 4022 go to inbound rule right click on it then select new rule

Select port then click next

Type port 4022 and click next

Select Allow the connection then click next

Select Domain, Private, Public and click next

Type name and click on finish

We have configure our firewall for SCCM 2012 r2 go to run and run command to gpupdate /force to update policies

 

Site System Roles Installation In SCCM 2012 R2

We had configure firewall settings for SCCM 2012 r2 now we are going for Installing Site System Roles In SCCM 2012 R2 see details given below to install Site system role for SCCM 2012 r2

First open configuration manager then go to administration then go to Sites Configuration then Sites from there click on Add Site System Role

At this screen leave default options and click Next


On proxy window add your proxy settings if needed otherwise leave it default

In this window we have to specify roles for our server for this example here I only selected some roles you can select according to your needs then Click next


Click next


Click next

Click next

Type Organization name and select website theme then click next

Click next at this window


When installation completed then click on close to finish Installing  Site System Roles In SCCM 2012 R2


That’s it we had installed site role in SCCM 2012 r2
